Make the ULTIMATE Coney Island Hot Dog at Home

Ingredients:

1 pound of ground beef

2 Cups H20

1 Tbsp of Beef Base

1 Tbsp Tomato Paste

1 teaspoon of garlic powder

1 Tbsp of your favorite BBQ sauce

1 Tsp Sweet basil Crushed

1/2 tsp chili powder

2 tablespoons of your favorite hot sauce

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

Pepper

4 all-beef hot dogs

Buns (preferably brat buns)

Butter, melted

Yellow mustard

Minced onion

Shredded sharp cheddar cheese

Chopped green onion (optional)

Instructions:

1. In a skillet, combine the ground beef and water. Break down the meat in the water till it's a meaty slush by using your hands. Bring to a slow boil and use a spoon to skim off the gray bits that rise to the top.

2. Add the rest of the ingredients and let simmer for 1 hour.

3. Preheat your grill or griddle, ideally with grill grates on a PK Grill Smoker Girdle and charcoal briquettes. Place hot dogs on grates and let cook for 4 minutes, flipping every minute.

4. Slice the ends of each bun, then take a slice off each side, finally slicing down the middle. Butter each bun with melted butter before toasting heavily on the grates or griddle so they can hold up to all of the ingredients.

5. Place hot dog in bun, then add a generous dose of yellow mustard, minced onion, and meat sauce. Sprinkle with freshly shredded sharp cheddar cheese, and top with chopped green onion if desired.

6. Serve hot and enjoy!
