1st Place Brisket

Now there’s a milestone! Our first cook of ‘22, in St. Roberts, MO, we finished 1st in Brisket. I think we surprised ourselves, as we have been known to struggle with Brisket in the past. A few changes and discussions with other professional teams cooking A9’s in the off season paid off. Of course, we ran the same recipe on day 2, and we tied for 2nd, in true Machete Boys BBQ fashion though, we lost the KCBS electronic coin flip and landed 3rd, but we definitely have found a keeper. It will be interesting to see how we fare in brisket as the season progresses, but ranked 20th in the nation is pretty exciting.
